Remote Web3 Developer Openings Worldwide

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Fintech & Crypto 💰 $130,000 / year
Web3 Developer, remote, full-time, $130,000 a year. Open worldwide, with no location restriction attached. This one sits on the front-end side of the blockchain stack. If the smart contract team writes the logic that runs on-chain, you're building the interface that lets a real person connect a wallet and use it without needing to understand what's happening underneath.

What you'd be doing

  • Build the front end for decentralized applications, along with the integrations that tie it to a live product
  • Connect applications to blockchain networks and wallets, handling the parts users actually interact with
  • Work alongside the smart contract team to make sure the front end and the on-chain logic actually agree with each other
A wallet-connection bug is a decent example of the kind of thing that lands on your desk. A user switches networks mid-session in MetaMask, and the app keeps showing balances from the old network instead of catching the switch. Small thing on paper. Confusing and trust-eroding for the person staring at what appears to be a missing balance. Fixing that kind of gap between what the blockchain knows and what the interface shows is a lot of what this job actually is.

What's required

A bachelor's degree covers the education side. On the experience side, two years of hands-on work building decentralized applications and wiring them up to blockchain wallets and protocols. Reading about Web3 doesn't substitute for having shipped something that real wallets connected to. JavaScript needs to be solid, since it's the backbone of everything on the front end here. Solidity matters too, not because you're expected to write production contracts solo, but because understanding the contract side makes the integration work easier to understand. Comfort with Web3.js or Ethers.js is close to mandatory, along with a working grasp of blockchain protocols generally and some sense of how decentralized application architecture differs from a standard web app. A few things beyond that baseline help: experience with a wallet connection library like WalletConnect, some exposure to TypeScript, and familiarity with more than one chain rather than just Ethereum. None of these will keep a strong candidate out if they're missing.

Compensation

Health insurance, paid time off, remote-work flexibility, and equity or token-based incentives make up the core package. Naukri Mitra has run a few Web3 roles for this same team recently, and this particular opening also includes stock options or profit-sharing as part of the total compensation, in addition to the base salary.

What tends to trip people up

Front-end work here comes with a wrinkle most standard web development doesn't have: gas costs and transaction timing are visible to the user in a way a normal API call never is. A button that looks broken because a transaction is just sitting in the mempool waiting to confirm is a support ticket waiting to happen if the interface doesn't communicate what's actually going on. Building interfaces that account for that delay, rather than pretending blockchain transactions are instant, is a skill that takes most developers a few projects to internalize. You'll also be debugging across two systems at once more often than not, which means a bug that looks like a front-end problem sometimes turns out to be a contract issue, and vice versa. Being comfortable working within that boundary, rather than throwing every weird bug over the wall to the smart contract team, matters here.

Applying

Include a link to a decentralized application you've built or contributed to, ideally something live or at least deployed on a testnet where the wallet integration can actually be tried out. If your work is under NDA, a written breakdown of the integrations you handled is a fair substitute. Given the remote setup and worldwide eligibility, expect some overlap in hours with a distributed team for coordination on the smart contract side.
